2 Cruelty Free Mascaras

That Will Have You Batting

Your Eye Lashes

It's hard enough trying to be vegan and saving the cute little animals, but when you are also looking for natural beauty products, you can really put yourself through the ringer, avoiding those harsh chemicals, staying cruelty free, while trying to look your best. That's why I felt pretty happy when I spotted these mascaras and found that they also worked pretty well. After using them both, I was able to discover that I was toting a secret weapon.  Having spent a lot of time wearing chemical-laden mascaras, these are a breath of fresh air. So without further ado, here's what I found.

Juice Beauty

I'm a big fan of Juice Beauty and have used their products for a little more than a year. And even though some of their products may seem a little overrated to some, I feel good to use them because they are big on animal friendly beauty.

Their Mission:

“We believe that caring for your skin should not prevent caring for your health or for the planet. At Juice Beauty we believe in advanced beauty solutions that harness the best of certified organic & natural ingredients to deliver clinically validated results that do not compromise your well-being nor the Earth.”

– Karen Behnke, founder

Personal Findings:

Juice Beauty Mascara is great for a really natural look. It goes on light and doesn't overpower the lash with black, allowing you to sport a subtle lash with the perfect hint of length. But this is not the mascara for an evening look. Think summery fashion with a natural glow

  Final Grade: B

I really like this mascara, but I found that I have to use two coats to really get it on there. I like to use it on a day when I'm wearing little to no makeup or I'm in a real rush.

Mineral Fusion Volumizing

I really like Mineral Fusion products, though I am still slowly working my way through the line. They've got some pretty good skincare products and I when I finally tried this vegan mascara, I couldn't stop smiling for hours.

Their Mission:

"We are dedicated to making cosmetics, skin care, body care and hair care healthy and effective while contributing to the wellbeing of our community – we call this pursuit Minerals on a Mission™. All of our products are free of gluten, parabens, SLS, phthalates, artificial colors and synthetic fragrances. All of our products are 100% Vegetarian, and most are even 100% Vegan."

Personal Findings:

Mineral Mascara is a pretty good option if you want to thicken those eye lashes. What I particularly love about it is it's ability to curl the lash. Your eyes will pop and wave hello to anyone in passing. If you like curly lashes, this is definitely the way to go.

Final Grade: B++

I've gotten some real compliments on this mascara. People have actually asked me if my lashes were real. It's not the greatest mascara that I've ever used, but it's cruelty free, natural and pretty darn amazing for what it does.
